Townsy,

Time flies when you’re having fun. I can’t believe FSM has been around that long already. Notice the other 2 are long gone?

Holy cow. The forum was REALLY LAME back then!!! [(-D]

It certainly does help to have tens of thousands of members versus…tens of members.

Of course, props to Mr.Gronovius for being the only member that I saw in the last 4/5 pages or so that’s still around! [bow]

Oh there are still a few old dogs out there that post occationally. The culture of the forum ebbs and flows and as it does so do the members. I was reading (on another forum [:-^]) about the level that the various magazenes and forums were on. AFV magazene ranked high and FSM ranked low. The others were somewhere in between. The criteria was generally based on the level of modeling, the depth of the articals and the organization/layout of the publication. FSM was considered entry level. I thought about this and could see the reasoning but…

I like FSM. When I ask a question I get multiple responces usually. Yes it does cater to the lower 3/4th of the modeling world but it really includes all levels. There are articals for the novice, the intermideate and the advanced levels. It dosen’t focus on one level as AFV does. As such the forum reflects that also. There are a broad range of levels represented and that is healthy for a forum. New people can get the help they need. People generously give of there knowledge and in doing so perpetuate our craft. For this FSM can’t be beat. It’s why I’m here.

More stick-to-it-ive-ness! Glad to see that some more of the “founding members” are still around…definitely says something about people’s involvement/commitment to the hobby. [bow]

Obviously now there are a lot more options for people forum-wise, catering to many different skill levels. Personally, I like the all-skill-levels community feel here. Maybe sometime I’ll feel the need to branch out a bit more, but for now I’m quite satisfied. [:D]
