I started this Hellcat during Sat. nights’ Dallas/Seattle Game and finished it up during the Florida game last night. I didn’t start out to do that but it became kind of a challenge to myself. I added a True Details cockpit to the 1/48 Arii Hellcat. I had to add some ducting to the engine area but other than that it is a great kit for the money. ($3 at a garage sale!). The decals are Aeromaster.
Beautiful job on one of my favorite birds. How is the Arii kit? Your pictures look great, but how was the build? Also, any pics of the cockpit? I may try to get the Arii kit.

You gotta love the Arii/Otaki kits. For their price and considering when the original molds were made, they’re jems. Room for super detailing but also builds into a nice replica, as is. I have several, including the hellcat.

The cockpits and the engines are sparse but the fuselage moldings are the best thing about them. Very fine rivet and panel work.
Very nice result, you must have locked yourself in if you took only 48 hours! With this speed you soon will get rid of your stash.

Cool! Mabye you have started a new trend, speed modeling! Kind off like the whole idea behind speed chess. You have to build it fast but it has to look good to. By the way how much caffine did it take to keep you going?
