Continuing on, I have the two sets of tires. One set are stock, the others are the upgraded Goodyear tires

So, that is it for today.

La da de la da da, got some work done. Have the rear metal axel in and wheels attached. Could not get the metal axel in up front, so I need to bring in a pin vise and open it up a little. Started painting the interior, going with a light and dark brown option.

More to come.

Alright, alright, alright, got a little more done. Front and back wheels are on and it sits level.

Did some more painting on the interior, just did not get images yet. :disappointed: Depending where I end up with this tomorrow, I may start the car hauler next week. I need all three at some semblance of completion so I can start the base

You are doing a great job on both of these kits.

I really like the weathering on that Plymouth. And the flat tires are a great touch.

The wheels on the Ford are a great choice as well.

If it’s not too late, a bumper jack would work great here…

Thanks Ctruss, sounds like i am on the right track then. Will continue on.

Dadoffour, still a ways off for tool placement. I like your suggestion on the bumper jack, if i can’t find one it should not be that hard to scratch build.

FRIDAY!!! Last work for the week. Concentrated on the interior, so final painting of the bench seat and dashboard.

Painted the engine area a flat black.

Then set the interior in and the cab on the body with engine in place.

Just did this to check clearances nothing glued in place. Surprisingly, everything seems to fit very well.

Next week plan on working on the car hauler.

Looks great, I’m sure I missed it but what did you do for the window trim on the Ford? BMF, silver paint, paint pens?

Would you believe a silver sharpie? Lol

So this week is going to be working on the car hauler. This is going together quite well, I have the tire rack, car shield and tongue put together in sub-assemblies.

Then I just placed things together to see how they fit.

Not to bad. Okay I just could not resist this one.

Haha, having fun now! Not that I wasn’t before. Until tomorrow.

Today I was able to get the base of the hauler done. I put the wheels on just to see how they look, trying to decide if I am going to go with the
steelies or dress it up a little with a different wheel set.

Setting all three items in line will yield a Dio of at least 26 inches in length. I may have to put the Plymouth on the hauler to save some space.

Will have to ponder that for awhile.

I have the car hauler painted.

Will have to do some weathering, but other than that it should not take to long to finish it. Next week will be focusing on the interiors

Wow, your rust affects turned out great. Especially on the car body,

I’m loving all of the work that is going into these builds with the rust and wear & tear effects. I’m slowly learning how to do these kinds of things and it really opens up a lot in the scale modeling world. Will be following along in this thread.

Thanks guys, appreciate the kind comments. Never thought of my work as being something to learn from. If there are any questions that i can answer, i am happy to help.

Back to the Plymouth and working on the interior.

I was hoping to mimick torn vinyl front seats, it came out kind of meh. The hole in the bottom left of the seat is a critter’s house

I think I have the interior tub done as well as I can do it.

Once again it is kind of meh.
