3th Canadian Division

Hi all,

I’m looking for any information about the " 3th canadian Division" during “Goodwood” in July 1944.

In fact i wonder if it’s possible to have a"Dingo Scout Car" with canadian’s marks on ?

Thanks for your help

Hi Piwi, some pictures of Dingo Scout Car…

More Dingo pictures…

Hang in there Pierre … I’m still trying to confirm if 3rd CID had any or not at that time.

P.S. which Regiment were you thinking of portraying with this kit? It might make it a little easier to confirm their having Dingos.

OK Pierre, this is what I’ve been able to dig up on the use of the Dingo.
Each Canadian Infantry Regiment had a Recce Troop that may or may not have used the Dingo, they may also have used the Lynx (which looks like a Dingo that has taken steroids). Also the 7th Recon Regiment may have used the Dingo. Here’s the O.O.B. for the 3rd C.I.D.

CANADIAN 3RD INFANTRY DIVISION

The Royal Winnipeg Rifles
The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada
The Highland Light Infantry
The Regina Rifles
Le Régiment de la Chaudière
The Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry Highlanders
1st Battalion The Canadian Scottish Regiment
The North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment
The North Nova Scotia Highlanders

DIVISIONAL TROOPS

7th Reconnaissance Regiment (17th Duke of York’s Royal Canadian Hussars)
3rd Canadian Divisional Engineers
3rd Canadian Divisional Signals
12th, 13th, and 14th Field, 3rd Anti-Tank, and 4th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiments R.C.A.
The Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa (Machine Gun)

Hope this helps a bit. Sorry I have no photos of the Dingo being used by there Regiments but you may be able to search their Regimental Histories to confirm.

Hi,

Thank you both for your precius help. Nice and helpful shots.
My idea is to make a little dio wtih a Jeep and and a Dingo of the 3th Canadian Div.during Goodwood Operation near Caen (Normandy, july 44)
But no idea about whitch unit to choose.

So thank you very much for your help, it will be easier now !

If and when you decide to build this dio, if you need a hand with figuring out the vehicle markings go with which Regiment, just give me a shout Pierre.
