350 scale Hornet

I read in the Fine Scale review of the kit that the hull sections ere differnt sizes spec didn’t match up by 1:32nd of an inch. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Maybe Fine scale just got a bum kit or is this across the board. I know the Essex kit I got was perfectly fine. I’ld be interested in knowing so all you sea dogs out there who have the kit pop a note and let’s see.

I’,ve got the Trumpeter 1:350 Hornet, is it about this particular kit you want to know about?
If it is i’ ve got it, and i’ m working on it. If i can help, just post a note.

That’s the exact kit. Oh another question. Do you perchance know the colors they used for the hanger deck floors and bulkheads? I’musre they would apply to the Essex as well

About the shape of the hull, seams to me that it isn’t exactly perfect, especialy the bow its too thick, Thats the only thing i’ ve notice.
About the colors i’ll send you fotos by e-mail of the kit. they aren´t very clear but migth help. I found these fotos in the web in some modeler webpage. It is the Trumpeter 1:350 Hornet.
The color inside the hanger is a very light gray, may be white, i’m not sure. However it is used in all U.S. aircraft carriers i’ve ever seen, but the hanger deck floors i dont know.

I’ ve forgot, if you are interested in the fotos please tell me where to send them.

My email doesn’t let me view attachments some software glitch. As soon as I get re-employed it’s in my top 10 of thigs to takecare of. Just having an idea of an interior color is helpful. Light gray of course makes sense, I thank you for confrming it. I’ll just slightly darken the floor. Can’t wait for the Saratoga and the Nimitz kits to come out.

I have one of these Hornet kits. I did a test fit and I have the same problem with the hull pieces matching up. The bottom part is about 1/32 of an inch longer than the top. I am anxious to build this carrier, but just got laid off and may end up moving. Bummer!

You’re welcome.
I’ m waiting for ICM Hms Hood, and the japanese heavy cruiser Takao all 1:350 ofcourse. The aircraft carriers will be great, i’m sure. Keep in tuch.
