Here is a fun project I did a couple of years ago. Its modeled in 3/8"=1’0 . It is based on some photos that were taken in Vietnam.
Here is the original notice the second crane in the distance
I used the bristles from a kitchen corn broom to make the bamboo roof over the hoist motors
I made a ballast box and used rocks I found out in the driveway.
The crane boom is all scratch built
The burlap sacks on the pallet are SKOAL smokeless tobacco pouches soaked in MIN WAX stain

You crane guys are starting to turn me on! These are just realy cool!! I never thought about building a crane? It’s right up my ally tho, I’m a rocket gantry guy and these feel very much alike. Thanks for sharing!
