3/8 SCALE "WACKY ASIAN CRANE"

Here is a fun project I did a couple of years ago. Its modeled in 3/8"=1’0 . It is based on some photos that were taken in Vietnam.

Here is the original notice the second crane in the distance

I used the bristles from a kitchen corn broom to make the bamboo roof over the hoist motors

I made a ballast box and used rocks I found out in the driveway.

The crane boom is all scratch built

The burlap sacks on the pallet are SKOAL smokeless tobacco pouches soaked in MIN WAX stain

I really enjoy looking at your work RI, thanks for sharing! Your scratchbuilding skills are very impressive.

Wow, another fantastic scratchbuilt model! I love how you got the rusty peeling paint look- looks just like the real thing.

Great work RI- and very interesting subjects too [Y]

This is just too cool.

Brilliant. Great project build.

Heh. That’s awesome. [Y]

Original, unique and extremely well executed.

You crane guys are starting to turn me on! These are just realy cool!! I never thought about building a crane? It’s right up my ally tho, I’m a rocket gantry guy and these feel very much alike. Thanks for sharing!
