I want to scratchbuild an accurate 2A46M-5 tank gun for a T-90A, but I need two measures: diametre of the gun barrel (the part shrouded in the thermal sleeve, I don’t care so much about the muzzle, it can be estimated)) and the diametre and length of the bore evacuator… I think these measures can be taken of the Tamiya T-72 gun or an Eduard replacement barrel, the 2A46M-5 gun is a little longer (125 mm/L55), but I don’t think it is thicker. Tamiya’s gun on their T72M1 is tapered from the mantlet cover to a distance of 16mm. Outside diameter at mantlet cover is 6.5 mm, at 16 mm outside diameter is 5.5mm. Bore evacuator outside diameter is 7mm, length not counting collars is 21.5 mm. Measurments include thermal shroud.
