21st Century out of business?

I heard that 21st Century Toys is out of business. Can anyone confirm this? If so, I’m glad I got the ones I have.

I have 3 1/32 scale full kits, 2 Corsairs and a Zero. I have a 1/48 prepainted and partially assembled BF109K4 which when I get to it, I might re-finish the outside to fill the seams and get new decals, it too has a promise of turning out and fitting in nicely with my 1/48 collection.

Boy I sure hate to hear it if they are gone.[:(]

They were just the ticket to get new modelers interested in our hobby, price being the main advantage, which would allow the builder to try out and learn new skills without ruining the gold-laced styrene of the companies I have to save up for a couple of months to buy one.[hdphns]

Dont get me wrong I like my Hasegawas and Tamiyas but I’m on a Revell budget

YES! Affirmative.

Once Walmart decided to drop them from their stores it was the end. Most companies that rely on WM for most of their income end up in similar situations.

21st Century put out a nice line of kits for beginners. It is unfortunate that one nationwide company has so much influence of the hobby industry. I don’t have a really good hobby store near to me so I now have to buy everything from online stores. This includes paints and glue.

They made some cool 1/32 armor subjects as well as 1/6 infantry figures and sets. That’s a shame, but I guess WW II has it’s limits.
