Another step closer to gittin-er done: I painted the nose and the spinner and then assembled the propeller yesterday. Next are the squadron/group/aircraft codes to be painted on the fuselage and vertical tail, probably tomorrow.
Looks good Frank. Did not know you were doing a blue noser. Makes me think of the old blue nosed Testors electro-plated P-51D ‘Moonbeam Mc Swine’. Man that was a pretty looking model on the box top… what markings are you doing?
I first saw this airplane at The Gathering of Mustangs and Legends back in 2007 and I’ve wanted to build a model of the airplane ever since. Finally started it several months ago, but then it ended up back in the closet where it sat until you started this group build. I live about 40 miles from where Stallion51 is based so I see a lot of blue nosed Mustangs. Kermit Weeks flies a blue nose too.

I have plenty of unfinished kits. Put me down for a 1/35 Meng T-10M, Tamiya 1/35 SU-100 and a Tamiya 1/35 ISU-152. Photos will follow as I get to them. Some of them are buried in the model closet.
Will do GreySnake, Welcome to the GB. Happy to have you.
Fotofrank,
That is an outstanding subject! And the model is coming along very well. I’m looking forward to seeing more progress.
I did get a bit more done with the PE:

I wasn’t getting a good vibe with the supplied nose mounted machine guns. So I splurged for an after market brass barrels:

And the kind of before and after photos:

Hope to get a bit more done through the weekend, will be posting again soon!
Good looking wheel wells hogfanfs!
cbaltrin, could you change the name of the Tamiya Su-100 to Su-85? I realized my mistake after pulling it out of the closet.
Here are pictures of the first two models I plan to start with.
The Su-85 is ready to be painted green. Once painted it should be finished pretty quickly. Although I am debating if I want to give it a winter white wash or not.

Meng T-10. This is a model I really wanted to like but haven’t enjoyed building it at all. The plastic is like very soft making it annoying to work with all the little parts. The main thing I need to do on this model is finish adding the fuel tanks and building the workable tracks.
Sure GreySnake, you’re all set. Personally, I think a winter wash would look great on that big slab of steel.
Okay, so here is the one I want to wrap up this year. No biggie you say. HAH! Not only do I have to fully paint and assemble the loose bits you see, but I have a full Tiger I to build with it and put it all on a dio. So, as you can see, this one will be a handful. I have all this set up in my mind, I just have to execute the design. Offta May, I think this one will be some work.

FYI, this is my Fury dio I started last year.

I’ll jump in on this.
Hasegawa 1/72 A-7A, left over from a weekend madness from a couple of years ago
Revell 1/24 1999 Mustang
Tamiya 1/48 F4F Wildcat
Welcome SteveCB, Roster updated.
Ok Gents, I decided I have to add one more kit to my already audacious list of entries.
I just have to get this sucker done this year. I just need to stop trying to make everything perfect and get the sucker put together. A built kit with imperfections is always better than a 1/2 build kit sitting in a box for 10 years, right?

Made quite a bit of progress on the Fort in the last two days. Got all the fuselage windows installed and finished painting and installing interior details. Just need to finishing modifying these cheek guns so barrels can be installed later then I will be ready to button up the fuselage.

I have a bunch of stuff, I always do. I’ll make a list when I get a chance.
Off hand I know I have 2 Monogram F106A in 1/48, 1 ICM MK.VIII in 1/48 and 2 Fujimi Ju 87B/R in 1/72 scale.
Sounds good 68GT, let’s me know when ya decide. Happyto have ya!
That looks fantastic, Chris. Makes me want to start on my Visible 17 and all the goodies. Not this year though. Keep goind. I’m loving what you got going.

Thanks Brandon! I am not sure I caught what your entry is? Roster still shows you as a TBD?
1/35 Tamiya M4A3E8 “Fury” build, with figures and stowage. Also includes an Airfix 1/35 Tiger I with figuers for a large scale Diorama for FURY tank battle scene. A huge amount of work ahead. Right now, just working on finishing the paint work on the Sheman. See my previous pics I posted here.
