I agree with Gamera on the left badge, it just jumps off the page.
Wayne Iāve decided on this Planet Cruiser C-57D by Polar Lights in 1/44 from the movie Forbidden Planet. What cool about this kit is that itās wired for LEDās something thats a first for me.
Thanks, Terry
Hey WOW Terry, that is awesome! Looking forward to seeing how she comes together.
I will join this build. Although I have hundreds of sci-fi kits, Iāve narrowed it down to the 1/72 scale Bandai VF-1A Valkyrie Super Fighter.

I suppose Iām in. I donāt want to sign up for too many GBs for next year, but this one is really hard to resist⦠Damnit, count me in!
I wonāt tell you my exact project, but Itās going to be something special. [;)] The subject is a Star Wars shipā¦
Hereās my box art for the front page Wayne. I see now itās the AMT/Ertl kit, not Revell. Guess thatās what I get for having too many kits in the stash.
Wayne,
Here is what Iāll do for this GB. Itās a bit on the cheesy side, but this was cheap, and it will give me a good chance to work on my painting and weathering.Maybe even some modifying. Plus itās Slave 1 [;)]
No worries about being cheesy, I have more than a few of those Revell snaptite Star Wars kits in my stash [:)]
iām leaning towards that one too. probably lighten up the words a bit more so they stand out a bit more.
TO ALL i hope you had a happy and THOUGHTFUL Memorial Day. we went to Ft Logan national Cemetery in Colorado for the annual ceremony. i met a lady who was in Holland in the winter of '44/'45. she asked if i was a veteran and thanked me. she remembers the food drops the allies did because the Dutch were starving. She moved to the US after the war and became a citizen and still remembers fondly her liberation by US and Canadian forces. ( i was reading an article about that in ARMCHAIR GENERAL magazine last night,)
Rob thatās a great choice! Iāve loved Robotech since I was a kid. Iāve been looking to pick up some kits, but I never seem to think of it when I have the money.
Iāve done a little more work on the X-Wing.
The engine faces each have 4 ejector pin marks inside them! And they are in a relatively recessed area so they were difficult to get toā¦but I did.
Hereās a shot of the faces. The one on the right still has the pin marks and the one on the left has been sanded smooth:
Here are all four sanded smooth:
How did you sand? Im thinking sandpaper and double stick tape on a dowel or cheap modified electric toothbrush.
Thatās pretty much exactly what I did except instead of using a dowel rod I used straight pieces sprue and instead of double sided tape I used CA glue. As I wore down the sanding paper I just snipped off the tip of the sprue and glued a new piece on.
Hereās another quick update. This kit is pretty old. The date on the instruction sheet says 1989 so its probably seen a few summers in somebodyās garage (I just got it from eBay about a day before this GB started). As a result some of the parts are a bit warped. The s-foils were especially bad. So I boiled up a pot of water and gently bent the parts back to their original shape. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a before pic but hereās how they look now:
That is awesome Kafziel! I didnāt even know that kit existedā¦I may have to hunt the internet to find one, and not let my wife find out about it
Ha ha ha, I thought pretty much the same thing as I was buying it!
Ooh, nice! That should be a fun one to build.
āGame over, man!ā
Those APCs are pretty sweet!
that is totally cool. are you joining?
Absolutely! Count me in!
