Wayne, I’ve been wanting that Boxer myself. I’m hoping to get it soon. as for modern Italian; the only one is the C-1 Ariete tank put out by Trumpeter. No Centauro so far in plastic; I’ve been waiting for that as well.
As for Oddball models; how does a Budweiser Beer Wagon with Clydesdale’s sound for that?
i have 3 1/35 CENTAUROs and they just look mean. ok that’s oddball. i have the 1/200 wheeled buck loader which would be 2-3 workstations worth of build.
Apologies all, life has been getting in the way of my bench time, with work being the main culprit. Fortunately, the weather is warming up here Down Under, so fishing is the second culprit on the weekends for chewing up my time.
Wayne - great tank. I agree about the need for metal tubing when using rubber band tracks.
Modelcrazy - that Fiat seemed to fall together for you. Excellent work! The camo schemes is very nice, especially given the size.
Unfortunately my Tony hasn’t been touched in the past 6 weeks or so, but hope to make a push this weekend to try and wrap up by the following week.
Keep up the great work everybody.
Fingers crossed i can start spending a bit more time in this forum
MC you should be proud of that Fiat, it looks fantastic. I keep looking it over and its hard to believe its a Braille. I especially like the symmetry and the cabling, just perfect. Nice camo too on that little guerriero (warrior).
Hey Braille Scale buddies! I’m back with another entry!
Well, to be honest, there’s a reason why I’m doing this. I’m currently in Idaho Falls on a work project for a couple of weeks and I’m out of things to do after work. Its too dark to hunt or fish, so instead of just watching TV in the hotel room I figured I’d find a small kit and build it while I’m here! So I stopped by the local Hobbytown and picked up this kit:
It was the ONLY 1/72 armor kit in the store. Oh, there were other 1/72 kits, like planes and such, but with this kit I can just tuck everything back in the box and it will fit in my luggage for the flight back home! Plus its a 3 in 1 kit!! Also picked some glue, hobby knife and sanding sticks…can always use these back home!
Looks great Theuns!! I struggled with doing that paint scheme on my Hurri. I opted to do the Belgian version though. That looks excellent and striking. I may get that plane again to do that scheme.
nice. i have that set. needed KUBELWAGEN to park next to DORA to show the size. i am officially insane. just picked an aoshima JGSDF fuel bowser to try out the kits before getting the tank transporter and patriot 3. oh and dragon is coming out out with an atomic cannon. thought the scales got bigger as you got older. will knock out an LAV for USMC GB and still have my second SS-25 to do.
Back from the ether, finally. I thought I had posted pics in my last update many moons ago. Starting off with a pic of the boxtop. As you can see, there is some alignment issues with the vertical tails, not to mention a slight bowing of the horizontal stabilizer. Going to dip into the goop at the bottom of my MEK bottle to fill the gap in front of the canopy. I had hoped to have painted by now, but there’s always tomorrow.
still some builds going on here. i have 2 more primed and one for the 48 hr build. i haven’t posted all of my builds but this has really got me into 1/72. with getting out of slump and new year i have a couple of BIG 1/35 railroad builds so a 1/72 will be a good break. i am still surprised my ww1 tank has won as much as it has. must be doing something right. i was awarded most improved modeler 2014 in my col spgs club.
is it too late to sign up? I’ve been wanting to do a Hurricane (flown by “Cobber” Kain) for a while; got decals and stuff for it.
It’s the old Airfix molding (not the new one) and is so simple, a monkey and two trainees could build it. Should be able to finish it before 31 December; it probably doesn’t have more than about twenty parts.
