Hi- my name is Trip. I built my first model in a long time…it was a 1/48 Hasegawa p-51d. When i was a kid, i built about 75 1/72 wwII aircraft. I forgot how much i enjoyed it. Anyway, i am getting back in for any number of reasons.
The bad news. i screwed up both of my bubble canopies…is there a way to get a replacement. From reading recently, I know some of you guys build your own canopys and buy upgrades. If somebody has a 1/48 p-51 bubble canopy leftover, i would be glad to pay for it.
This is a great site…
Best wishes
Welcome to the forum Trip. There are “aftermarket” canopies out there, I start with an outfit called “the Sqadron”. They may have what you are looking for or some of the others on line may sugest other sites.
[#welcome] Always good to have a more new members here. I’m still trying to figure out how to replace one those little boogers myself. As has been mentioned, you could try Squadron. The canop[ies I’ve seen have been for Monogram kits but it is possible that by now they have replacements for Tamigawa.
[#welcome]to the FSM forums trip, enjoy your time with us.
Welcome to the forums trip, glad to have you on board.
Welcome Trip!
First I would look on the instructions, or on the company website for a contact number, I know with Tamiya I can call them and have my replacement in a week or so. Second try www.squadron.com or www.greatmodels.com and see if they have them. Odds are for something as popular as a P-51 I bet they do!
And if it’s not broken but only scratched go to the link here:
