1st build of 2010; Tristar Pnzr 1 Ausf A 2/5 Finished!(pg2)

Keep at it Steve. That thing is lookin’ sharp thus far. Man, why didn’t I get one of those at AMPS!!??[bnghead]

Niiiiiice! I like where you’re headed with this one!

Next up, weathering…[:D]

Bill thanks I’m feeling a whole lot better now that the scheme is a hit.

Boyd thank you! and yes you most definitely should have.

Dupes thanks man!And I like where your going with that type 90.

Okay heres were I’m at.

Got a coat of future on and applied the decals using solvaset to get them to form and settle around the visor covers. The pioneer tools jack jack block and were all painted using both acrylics and oils. The exhaust were painted using real rust mixed in with the paint Next was the washes. I start out with an oil wash of burnt umber followed by a coat of clear matte. Once dry the decals were smeared with some dark brown acrylic paint to represent mud that would have been applied by the crew to help prevent them from becoming aiming points. Next washes using the same dark brown acrylic mixed with some plain isopropyl alcohol were applied. This was followed by a pin wash and a lite dusting of earth brown weathering powder.

Still need to add the final touches, road dust, grime and some oil and grease stains.

Finished pics tomorrow night.

Thanks for looking , Steve

I totally missed this 1st time around. That looks real sharp. I like that camo.

panzerguy: You must have a thing for ugly women…or should I say AFV’s! First that Russian truck thingy with the home made “chains” and now this hideous beast. Next you know you’ll be building a French Bibi!

Fantastic work as always though Steve! You blended those brown spots just right. Not too obvious, but very noticeable…nice. Love the flag, great job on the tracks too…were they pre-sagged (is that a word?!) I’ll be staying tuned to see the final touches!

NOT finished!?!? Could have fooled me panzerguy!! This is a great looking Pz I, I love it! I love panzer gray!! I love that flag!! Can’t wait to see it completely done!

Looking very nice as it gets soooo close to the finish line Steve! I’ll echo SMJ in saying you’ve blended the two tone scheme together very well. [Y] [Y]

Yeah, Steve. Really nice job all around on this one! I, too, really like the flag. Is that one of your home-made jobbies or did you snag it from somewhere else?

Marc thanks for looking in and dont feel so bad I’m getting caught up on some builds around here that I missed also.

Steve Thanks man. And you know what they say about ugly women? They try harder and in the dark they’re beautiful.

The tracks are Model Kastens. These are workable tracks that are like fruils except made of styrene.

Thanks buffle much appreciated .

Bill Thank you. Since this was my first attempt I was a little nervous about the way this was going to turn out.

Thanks Boyd. No not home made it was part of the Eduard PE set. Once I saw it there was no way I wasn’t going to use it.

Next up finished pics.

I can finally call this one done!

All comments and questions are most welcome

Steve,

Beautifully done. The color selection, shading, along with the weathering really make this “POP”! [Y]

Outstanding final finish there Steve! Got to love the early-war armor, definitely one to be proud of to have on your shelf! [Y] [Y]
