Thanks, and well … to be honest … this one was such fun I’m doing another. I just have to pick out the livery.
Ford did have 4x4 F-350’s through the converter, Marmon-Herrington. They used the F-250 leaf springs and the Dana 44 closed knuckle front axle. What frame and front axle did you use? The only two that I know of are the AMT Super Stones 79 F-150 Dana 44 open knuckle axle with coil springs, and the Möbius 72 F-250 leaf sprung dana 44 closed knuckle axle. The Western and Western Jr. mirrors were chrome, and aftermarket copies were white, as my dad put those on his new 72 F-100.
Another thing is if 4wd, then the front axle hubs should stick out from the front wheels. Here is a guide to 67-72 Fords
This is such a neat build. It reminds me of the tow truck at my first job. It was a 70’s era Chevy. Jacked up with big mudders on it and a tow unit dropped in the box. That would be a fun build. Now you got me thinking about getting back into autos!
Thanks for sharing…you did such an amazing job on it!
That looks awesome, I’ve looked around for wreckers, tow trucks, service trucks, not a lot out there. I got the peterbuilt wrecker I picked up a few years ago but not much out there. Nice job.
Amazing work… It seriously looks real. Perfection… Bravo Sir, Bravo
That’s one beautiful looking tow truck!
That looks great, the wear and tear is perfect, looks like the real thing.
Very nicely done. I especially like how you swapped out parts to make the build more accurate, like making it 2 wheel drive and removing the chrome trim. White mirrors, grilles, and bumpers were common on work trucks.
I also like how you weathered just right. It’s not too nice, and it’s not too much. Right in that sweet spot.
Moebius kits are very high quality. I think they are better quality than anything Revell and AMT do. I wish they would some out with more kits. I know they are a small outfit though.
