1956 Canadian Mercury Redeau Victoria

This is a resin kit I got many years ago that turned out to be really beautiful and clean, and beautifully mastered, and was really fantastic getting to build something so nice to start with.

I used a 1956 ford kit to add the missing pieces to complete the build, including fabricating the continental kit and hinged hood and chrome trim on the top of the rear fenders and shaving the missing door handles.

This is one of my favorite finished resin kits.

Our northern neighbors sure knew how to trim 'em out - Beautiful!

Super cool!

You’ve done some excellent work there, great job on this !

Hi;

I notice you’te hiding the 57 Country Squire from me. Why? That would build up into such a beautimus auto ! Ot at least put it in the background again so I can feast these old eyes of my all time favorite auto! Please?

Having lived In Buffalo ,N.Y. right across the "Rainbow Bridge " from Canada, I saw a lot of Rideau autos . Definitely prettier than the home grown variety!

A gorgeous two-tone beauty! I first thought the black side lightening bolts and front grill were your custom touches, not realizing that they were the stock styling features until I googled this Canadian version. I haven’t been brave enough yet to tackle a resin body kit bash but your builds are helping to inspire me to give one a try.
Another really nice build Dave! Thanks for sharing!

Looks great!

I lived in Detroit during the 50s so saw a number of those Canadian Mercurys. Were they called Monarchs or something like that?

Beautiful!

Very nice !!! [t$t] [t$t] [t$t]

Stay Safe.

Nice job! I like the front end style on this car.

Hey there, “Tanker-Builder”.

I will see what I can do about the '57 Ford Squire wagon.

Somehow I lost my folder of internet pics of the finished car, so I need to shoot some new pics of the old girl.

I’ve been mighty busy, but I’ll try today [Y].

Thanks for the interest.

Thank you, everyone, for the great comments - very much

appreciated [Y][Y].

Hi Don [:D]

In Canada, the Monarch was the name of the car, not a body style. The Monarch Richelieu was a Canadianized 1956 U.S. Mercury, not the ford.

Notice how different the front end is, and side trim from a Mercury made in the U.S.
