1954 Hudson Hornet Special Jr Stock Dragster

Hello everyone its been a few years since I’ve posted here and had to create a new account.

I recently finished this build and took some quick photos on the workbench that I’d just like to share.

This is Moebius Models 1954 Hudson Hornet Special Jr. Stock Dragster in 1/25 scale. I started this build in July so it was a little slow, all the masking for the chrome was dauntin

Nice build Delby! Glad to have you back with us. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Raced against a few of them at the old Atco Dragway back in the early '60’s. Great cars.

Welcome back Delby. Very nice Hudson racer. They were sure a big suprise to a lot of the bow tie and blue oval guys sometimes.

Nice job. I’ve been eyeballing that kit for a while now. How did it go together?

Hey Duster, I was one of those bow-tie guys that got his butt kicked quite a few times by them. I thought that my '53 Chevy convertable was a lot lighter and faster. Found out the hard way that it was lighter but not faster.

Stay Safe.

It went together very well, almost no fit problems. Only slight issue I had was the windshield… had to cut a bit of the top to fit around the rear view mirror attachment point. Everything else was just fiddly bits. If it wasn’t for all the chrome masking I would have got done a lot faster.

Ok I got the professional Photo Studio out and here are a few final photos… I have noticed one fit problem in my build the hood is slightly warped and doesn’t sit quite right. this could prob be fixed with some sanding or reshaping… I will keep an eye on this in future hornet builds.

More photos of the finished model can be seen here.

Yeah A good friend of mine, way back in the early '60s, picked up a Hudson, got it running and found out they were powerful and fun. He was able to keep gas in it from “donations” by other drivers who didn’t believe his storys. What a time that was.

OH I like that build. Love the color as well. Good job.

Pretty kewl looking Hudson. Love the old body styles. Nice build.
