So here I am starting to build a big, expensive Collect-Aire Grumman AF Guardian and I buy the requisite Steve Ginter book, but nowhere can I find any information on what the basic cockpit and interior color should be, and the Guardian had a big aft-of-cockpit cabin in the Hunter version, for a couple of radar/systems operators.
Should the sidewalls be standard interior green?

I don’t have any references to back this up but I would say yes to the interior green. I’ve seent the one at Pensacola and from what I could tell, the entire interior was interior green, almost like a MM Field Green (F/S 34097) or Medium Green (F/S 34102). These aircraft may have been built in the early 50’s but still fell under the same painting rules from the the end of WW II as far as interior finishes.
Haveing been in the Navy, from 58 to 63, and stationed at the air stations, I dont recall seeing anything but green interior cockpits, so I agree with Reddog on the green.
