I’ll probably get the 1/18 scale V-1 later on, but not for this build. I wasn’t even thinking of the trolley for the big one. What I’d really like is to do the launch ramp for the tamiya kit, but I guess that isn’t happening.
If I could find some decent pics of the ramp, I’d try to fabricate it myself, even though I’m not all that great at scratching
The kits have been out for some time, so, I guess they don’t think its worth it. If I’m interested in it, there must be others as well.
If I can throw into this, I can either do a V1 that’s on it’s way, or a P-38J that’s waiting.
Just wondering Viejo, which V-1 are you doing? Why not do both, I’m going to do Jimmy Stewart’s B 24 and the V-1 Because I don’t think the V-1 will take that much time.
There is a company called Gaso.line that makes a resin 1/48th launch ramp. But no idea is its still around or where you might get it.
Greentracker, I’m in error. It’s a prototype V2 that is coming, not a V1.
Having seen a V1 at Fort Sill, I’ve got it on my list, but for this build, the prototype V2.

Sign me up for this GB, but I’m going to cheat a little. I had planned on doing a CG-4A Waco glider for “The Longest Day GB”, but I’ll transfer it over to this one (I’m still doing the C-47 for “The Longest Day GB”).
I plan to still make a diorama with both aircraft, however. [:D]

Yeah I have a nice set of WWII encyclopedias and they are loaded with great info from the very beginings of the lead up to the war to a good deal after the war. I need to study a bit but there is sooo much to choose from! Also my wife is Filipina and her Dad was fighting with the American Army and had been captured, but escaped during the Baatan Death march, I would also like to do something in his honor (he survived the war but has been gone for several years now). I’ll just have to do some research. During the escape his brother was shot and killed, he also was shot twice but recovered from his wounds, and when able to fight again, in his words… " Killed many Japanese with his bare hands and bolo".
V2 is 1/72 cmkit w/launch pad, P-36J is 1/48 Revell. I’ll try for both.
Viejo, nice, look forward to that. I had planned on doing a full V-2 launch scene many years ago, I got a Condor V-2 and one vehicle, but never got any further. Most of the vehicles were in Resin then. But with SH releasing some injection stuff, I have been thinking about giving it another go.

No problems gary, sounds like a great idea. That’s WACO is a nice kit. I did a dio with mine many years ago, it was one I was really proud of, I just wish it had survived. Look forward to seeing yours.

I’ve never done a group build before but I’d like to join in on this one. I also want to pick a kit that’s out of my norm. I usually build 1/48 WW2 aircraft, and recently started working on my 1st 1/35 armor since 1978. It’s a trumpter KV “Big turret” and its a nice kit.
I got a Tamiya Panzer IV J 1/35 for Christmas and I’d like to build that for this group build. The kit seems lacking compared to the trumpeter kit and I’ll have some work to do, and we’ll see how it goes. I already purchased some am mesh skirts for it since the kit had no skirts included.
Sound like I fit in? What I can’t figure out is how to add a new post to an existing thread without replying…
Those builds sound great. I know SS will add you when he gets back on. I am considering the Tamiya Pz IV as well.

This build is shaping up rather nicely. Too bad we can’t get them all in one place.
I know what you mean Ken. But its one of the good things about the net is that people from all over the world can get together and do this sort of thing.
And we don’t have to worry about jet lag or the models getting damaged.
