i’m in but not sure what. are shelf queens allowed?
I have most 1/48 P-51s in my stash, Monogram (including the ProModeler reboot), Revell (they did a seperate 48th D kit in the late 70s), Otaki (since reboxed by Airfix and AMT/ERTL), Accurate Miniatures, ICM… all except the Tamiya kit… I do want to get their Korean War kit to rectify that. I have read that the fit of the interior parts on the ICM kit is tricky.

Ken, I had a check and could find any 48th decals. I think Jimmy flew in several B-24’s. The decals I have are for male Call, I have found some pics on line. I could also send you the image from the decal sheet I have if you want, not sure if that will help.

There is also decal set for Jimmy Stewart’s B-24 ‘Nine Yanks and a Jerk’. No pinup graphic at all, just the motto/slogan in white lettering. Iliad design made them both, but only stock them in 1/72.
I guess with that post, I’ll throw my hat into the ring. Put me down, but undecided atm for kit subject.

I’ve built the Tamiya P-51B some years ago as a 3 Sqn RAAF aircraft. I don’t think I’ve ever built a better kit.

Bish, I would like to build the German “UHU”, Sd. Kfz. 251/20 Ausf.D in 1/35 by AFV. I believe this particular I/R searchlight vehicle was first put to use in 1944.
I found a video this morning on youtube on a German U-boat U-1105 “Panther” sunk in the Potomac River near Tall Timbers, MD.
I never heard this before, Anyone else?
jibber, I will be watching that one, got the same kit myself. I am happy to se any variant of the 251. I am a bit unsure as to the actual introduction of the /20, the sources I have seem a bit confusing. They were reportedly only issued to a unit in Feb 1945, but I get the impression that there were some example in very late 44. So your in.
Ken, I hadn’t heard of it before, but there is info here, I love this site. It surrendered in Scotland at the end of the war, transferred to the USN and was used in depth charge tests, being sunk twice.

i i heard of that uboat but only because i was visiting a friend at PAX NAS many years ago and saw a brochure about diving on her. it is a great website for uboat stuff.
