1914 Indy winner

This is my finished 1914 Delage Indy car. It is 1:43, from M A Models. I have never been a big fan of 1:43 kits- even less so now. This was a bear to build! This thing is about 3 1/2 inches long!

Don,that looks terrific! Not familiar with the maker or scale. Is it plastic?

Holy moly! That is amazing Don. I’ve never heard of 1/43rd scale before. It certainly looks much bigger than that.

Really nice job Don, as usual.

Beautiful car it’s a nice change

Beautiful work, hard to believe it is that small.

The kit is a mix of die cast pot metal and cast resin. The casting quality was pretty poor, especially the metal. Plus the metal was a really soft alloy so the parts bent way too easily. Thus I replaced some of the suspension parts with brass rod or piano wire.

Very nice job! I am struggling with the Tamiya Simca kit with the PE on it, and having to break out the microscope. I can’t imagine working in 1/43!!

That’s beautiful, Don!

Your attention to detail in this scale is nothing short of mind blowing!!! Great build Don!

Great Job.

You certainly made a silk purse out of this one .

Say, can I borow your spoke wrench? if you’re done with it, that is.

Beautiful,great looking build!

Great job! Nice looking car, It would be cool if they made tires in other colours today!

I remember a time a decade or two ago when one of the tire companies was going to make “whitewall” tires with different colors where the white inset ordinarily went. It was a flop!
