190A-8 finished

This is Tamiya’s 1/48 A-8. A nice kit as usual. This was my first attempt at a mottle job (yes, this is my first 190). I repainted the mottle 3 times to get it right. Everything else was pretty straightforward. I would like some crit since this was my atttempt at a mottle. I’m sure it won’t be my last. Thanks for the feedback…

Andy

Darn good work for your first mottled scheme, and your first Wurger. The weathering looks great, I like the soft demarcation between the colors, and that tricky spiral on the spinner…well, ya nailed that, too! I’d be quite proud of that effort. Well done! [tup]

That would be good mottle if was #20. Nicely done.

Nice , good mottling. [:)]

This is your first? Well, your second will be a killer.[tup]

I think the mottle looks very good, as does everthing else. Very nice indeed!

Only thing I can criticize is you fibbing about that being your first mottle. [;)]

Seriously- that is a nice looking -190. Paint, weathering- it’s all great. Way to go!

Wow, I think you nailed the elusive mottle on your first try! Honestly, I can’t find anything to critique. Nicely done!

Looks good Andy, especially for your first attempt. Well done.

Regards, Rick

Looks real good wulf, that molt job is quite nice. I like the chipping around the cockpit/gun hatches. The drop tank and tire weathering is also well done. Exhaust stains on the decal is also worth mentioning sometimes that not easy to do. For your first butcher bird you did a great job.

Two things I’ll point out. One It looks like your morane antenna is on backwards. Usually the lower whip section sweeps to the rear of the aircraft. The second is the 190’s like late 109’s had a wood prop covered in a canvas so metal chipping was not seen. when they do chip depending on the depth is usually black/gray or brown in color.

Much better than my first attempt at mottle camo. Well done. [tup]

Andy, yet another winner flies off your bench! Great job on the 190.I like the color scheme you chose, too.

awsome job wulf.

great work.

Did not know that about the prop…thanks. The directions for the plane shows the morane antenna in that position, with it hooking to the rear. Might have been illustration error.

That’s a beauty!! Great job Wulf1

Jerry

Looks like a great job. Your persistence paid off, as the mottling looks very natural. I did my first mottling a few months ago (Tamiya FW-190A3), and it took me two attempts before I was satisfied, so I sympathize!

Great job-

The mottling looks great to me, Andy. Very nice job on the build!

Mark

Great job on the 190. Love everything about it. Great scheme.

Nice looking finish, she turned out great

Thad

Good looking 190, don’t see anything wrong with the mottle painting.

Nice job on the A-8! Weathing, superb. Finish and assembly, fantastic. The only little nitpick (and I personally would not sweat it) is the demarcation lines between the two colors on the camouflage scheme is a bit soft, they were a little more hard edged. But again, I wouldn’t sweat it at all. Great job freehanding the camo pattern, looks better than many jobs done with masking! [8D] [tup] And your mottling looks great! Luftwaffe mottling is not an easy thing to spray, and I think you’ve done a great job with yours! [^]

Your 190 deserves a prominent place on your display shelves. [:)]
