So,what do you guys think of the $159.00 Tamiya Corsair.I have always been a “everything has gone up in price” and “you pay for what you get” and “If you dont like it,don’t buy it” guy
But to me,this is way out of line for a 1/32 prop a/c,Is it worth it ? maybe, but I definitly can’t go there for that price.I guess everybody has their limit.I plunked down $219.00 for Akagi and $ 120. for CVL-22 but I wouldn’t do it for this one even if I wanted it.
So who is putting out that much for this ? (not a critisicm of those who do,we spend on what we want) but just curious if this one is starting to touch the spending ceiling.
Bwahahahahaha, I was wondering how long it would take for that one to show up!!
It’s all a matter of how much detail you want. 1/32 is a big scale, and subject to a lot of added detail. You can spend $20 on a 1/48 kit, add a $15 Edouard mask and $25 PE set, then the added $25 armaments kits, plus the stuff you add from the spares box and scratch-building, so it usually (with me, anyway) all adds up.
What’s it going to be, a single sucker-punch to the wallet, or death by 1000 cuts? Remember, Tamiya kits almost fall together, and their detail and molding are usually wonderful, so you do get some value for that price.
Found it on amazon for $100. I hate not buying locally or from the same online shop I usually use but I couldn’t pass up the price. I do hope someone makes a gun bay set for it.
i think we all should petition revell/monogram to step it up with updating older kits and keep churning out the new kits, their quality has improved dramatically since the old days. i’ve seen some of these new kits from other manufactures, i’m not impressed for the prices they’re asking! great wall, trumpeter, meng, Tamiya, hasegawa, etc. I could go on but the message is clear…YOU ARE WAY OVER PRICED AND I WILL NOT BUY YOU’RE OVERPRICED PRODUCTS! ok i’m done I hope their marketing guys read the forums that’s my 2 cents I saved by staying with revell/monogram RUN 'EM INTO THE GROUND GUYS!!!
I was out of the hobby for about a year. When I went into the hobby shop last month to buy a tank, I was shocked by how much the prices went up in that short time.
