I’m looking for a kit for a FAC dio and need a 0-1, Bird Dog. Only kit that seems out there is one from Model USA (#0001). I can neither find the company or the kit. Any info wil be greatly appreciated.[8]
Airfix has a 1/72 that’s ok
Model USA’s first and only kit release was the L-19/01 Cessna Bird Dog in 1/48 scale. The mold was purchased by Hasegawa and has been issued by them on at least one occasion several years ago. It’s been OOP for quite a while. You might try eBay.
I picked up Model USA’s 1/48 L19 on Ebay for 22US plus shipping a few months back. It looks like a fairly good kit. Good instructions and paint detail. Decals for VNAF 124th OS(1975), USAF19 TASS (1966), and JASDF 1st OS 1980.
The Royal Canadian Air Cadets us the L19 to tow gliders, for whom my Wife works for. I plan to build it with there paint sceme.
Thanks for the info. I’ll try E-Bay again. As for prices, orginally sold for $10.00. If Hasagawa decides to reissue, it’ll probably be $20.00 and maybe some refinements. Review article I read stated problems with window parts and interior.
