Mixed a green the exact same color as the base in oils, put it in about 8 or 9 different spots on a pallets and tainted each one with a dot of green, or red, or white, or yellow, or orange, or blue or whatever.
Put each of those colors onto the separate metal armor panels.
I used a flat brush to get most of it off just leaving a tint left.
Black oil wash.
Treads are hand painted silver, then a darkish rustish reddish brown color.
I gave that a black wash like the other
then wiped most of it off and some of the red, leaving some of the metal through.
Nice work! I have ground to a halt on the Emhar Mk1 Male, so might drag the Airfix equivalent out of the stash and try with that after seeing your build.
1:76 is not a box scale, rather a scale matching the railway scale of OO. This was deliberately done by armour kit manufacturers of the 1960’s - 70’s. Airfix led the way and Matchbox and Fujimi followed.
It is not so popular today as 1:72 but there still are a lot of 1:76 kits sold by both the original manufacturers (Matchbox = Revell) and aftermaket manufacturers such as Cromwell and Milicast.
I tried doing a Emhar 1/35th Whippet, but the instructions were not the best for the armor plates on the turrets and I ended up getting frustrated with it and put it away
I got it at a show and when I opened it there were AM tracks in the box. I only paid like 10$ for the kit.
I also broke one of the Mg barrels off, I HAVE the broken barrel but I dont feel like going through the pain of reattaching it. Also the way the armor of the turret is set up once you glue it its not ungluing so I cant go inside and take the barrel out and make my own.
