1/72 Special Hobby B-32??

I recently came across this…I know its from 2004, but does anyone know if this is still in progress and a go?

I’d rather not spend a lot on the AvUsk kit, if this one is still coming…

The mpm.cz site and the cmkkits.com site don’t say anything about it, though they also don’t mention any of the new 1/48 Italian planes…

Alrighty, so…this is what Jan Hajicek, MPM Production, had to say when I emailed them…

Me:

"Dear Sir or Madam,

I recently found an older (2004) website entry that stated that Special Hobby will be releasing a 1/72 B-32 Dominator. Since this plane has been at the top of multiple official request lists, I, and many other modelers are curious as to the status of this project. Is this a kit that will still be produced at some point in the near future, or has it been cancelled?

Also, on a related topic, I cannot seem to find an estimated release date for many promised MPM and Special Hobby kits soon to be released, such as the 1/48 Do 24T, the 1/48 Ro.57, the 1/48 Ba.88, and the 1/48 Br.20 , all of which Hannants has listed as future releases.

Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter.

Sincerely, Alex Jeffrey"

Jan:

"We are curently working on Ba 88, Br.20 and Ro 57 they will be released during 2008, no exact date has been set, yet.

We will start preparation of Do-24T and B-32 next year."

So. it sounds to me like it is still a go! Save your pennies! [:)]

I wonder why they’d be interested in doing another 1:72 Do 24T (the Italeri offering, though of 70s vintage, is ok, just needs a bit of AM stuff) when a decent Whitley is not on the market.

The Do 24T and the Italian birds are all in 1/48…so it should make a nice replacement of the Fonderie Miniature kit.
