Outstanding Dan! Love the weathering, very realistic, nice and dusty. How was the fit?

Good work… nice “Flying Tiger”… did you paint the cockpit with a brush?.. I always do that… I don’t trust in masking tape…
Great build Dan. Captures the AVG Tiger very nicely.

Why is it that mine never turn out that well? Beautifully done Hawk [tup]
Looks great… like it’s been flying from a dusty strip in Burma… perfect.
GREAT JOB!
Nice build. One of my favorite group of aviators for sure.
Very nice P-40. I am planning to start that same kit for the P-40 GB as soon as BlackWolf sets a start date.

Nice build Dan, love the dusty look expecially! [tup]
Very nice build, Dan! What paints/colors did you use?
Mark
Thank you everybody for the kind remarks!
I used Tamiya Khaki and Dark Green for the camo. I then used Khaki+White and sprayed a light mist over the entire plane, including the canopy. The only thing I had problems with were the thick decals needing coats of Solvaset II to lay down. The roundels were also printed out of register.
Thanks again,
Dan
I’m not often driven to comment on other people’s builds, usually out of laziness and envy [}:)] but that is a fantastic looking build. I made the same model and now I want to throw it in the bin. Really, the colours and dusty look are amazing. Well done.
You’ve inspired me to have another go [:D]
That’s an incredible weathering job - especially on something that small !
Give me a glass of water !
Chris
Dan,
Your Tomakawk looks great! Thanks for sharing the photos.
By the way, did you leave masking tape on the rear windows?
Regards,
Another great build Dan
I don’t think he did. I have the same kit. The rear portion is very shallow, and he said he built it OOTB. The one unfortunate thing about the kit, and most others are the clear pieces are way too thick, not a thing wrong with the build, just a kit situation…again nice work Boybuddho…
Thanks again everyone!
Joe Rugby is correct…the canopy is very thick and the 2 rear pieces all dont fit well to the fuselage. I does look like masking tape , though! [:D]
dan my favorite bird. wonderful work.
