This is for the most part artwork but I use my modeling to get the most realistic final image. I shoot the model in natual lighting and edit into a back shot.

Nice picture. How do you spin the prop?
I use a paint and photo editor called JASC paint shop pro. I shoot the planes in sunlight with a lite blue back drop, this make editing the plane clean for pasting in a good background image. I then edit the image as needed fo a realistic look. the prop is blured with a motion bluring tool in the editor
