1/72 Scale BMP 1A1 'Ost' Two Thirds Done

Well, I’m much further along on the BMP than before. I did the following in the last three hours before coming here to post WIP Photos.

→ I painted the Tracks on the Lower Hull since I’d painted the Whole Lower Hull and Wheels the night before.

->I had to then ‘hollow out’ the side skirts since they were molded solid and would hit the Sprockets and wheels that are sticking out. Below shows one ‘hollowed out’, and the other still solid. It’s almost impossible to tell, but the top one is still solid, while the lower one is hollowed. I apologize for the poor Quality of the image.

->I used my Dremel Flex Shaft on a low speed with a sanding drum. One skirt got sanded through, so I had to patch it. [#oops] I used very thin sheet styrene for the patch (Patch indicated by Arrow.)

->All photo-etch is on. [tup]
->Mounted Top Hull to Bottom Hull, after paint dried.

Below is the final result to date:

Now I should have it all done before the weekend, along with my Gvozdila, and my two Su 7’s! [8D]

Looks like it’s coming along nicely Duke! Don’t you hate it when you sand or cut through something like that?!?! [:0] Looks like a good clean build so keep us posted on the finish!!

Eric

You’re doing great Duke. That small beast is really coming out nicely.

More posts on the progress will be appreciated.
