1/72 scale Attack Aircraft Group Build.

Hi Rob,

Welcome! I’ll make you up a badge and post it shortly.

Dan

How’s this Rob?

Dan

yep that will do dan and thats a great looking pic thanks for the badge rob[:D][:D]

No worries Rob.

Well, I’ve started!! The Hornet’s in it’s infancy at the moment, but coming together nicely. It’ll be awhile before it shows enough progress for a photo.
Cheers,
John

Good to hear you’ve started John. I’m still waiting for my Intruder to turn up but might start work on an A7-D that I have. I’ll still build the Intruder but I may as well start something that I can also enter into this build.

Dan

Looks like I’ll get started on my kit too. I may do two kits here, since I have another one that would fit in this Build.

well guys i havent even started my f-18 yet. i am stll struggling to get my f-14 done for the other gb that i am in. now my problem is what armment should i put on the hornet?? sould it be air to air or should it be air to ground with either dumb bombs or smart bombs. either way i go i wil have to order them so which way would you go??[:D][:D]

Can you have a mixture? I like to see aircraft loaded out with air to ground and air to air weapons!! Does the hornet always carry 2 Air to Air missiles on it’s wing tips (sidewinder etc)?

Dan

Well here’s an update:

My Skyraider will be French, since I can’t find the kit with the US markings, and I have no aftermarket ones.

Also, I have two Panavia Tornado IDS kits. I’m considering adding these to this Build as well. One will be British, the other Saudi Arabian.

I’ll keep everyone posted on my progress!

Sounds good Duke, can’t wait to see some pics. My update is that I haven’t got one!! Haven’t started any kit yet. Have the Corsair to build and am still awaiting delivery of the Intruder. Will be on vacation from Thursday to Monday so will probably start when I get back.

Dan

Well, my Hornet is going to be an ‘in-flight’ model, so the pilot is going in, the air brake is closed and the wheel bays have been closed up. The intakes for the engines are on, the insides have been blanked off and given a coat of flat black. I’m busy busy. [:D]
Cheers,
John

Sounds good John,

You could always have the airbrake open as they use this to slow down in-flight also not just for landing. Everyone’s way ahead of me!!

I have just recently started building Italeri’s F-5 Freedom Fighter in 1/72 scale. I plan to do it up as a Canadian CF-5A, but Im not sure of the paint scheme yet. If this is alright, let me know.

Mark, it’s up to the starter of this Group Build, but as long as you have it loaded out with bombs and/or rockets, I don’t think it would be a problem. Go for it.

I haven’t started anything yet either so don’t feel bad Dan. Ialso have a Corsair I may start, as well as an FB111, but for right now, I’m staying with my French Skyraider and two Tornados.

Maybe this weekend I’ll be able to start…

Photos coming, hopefully later today!
Stand by!
Cheers,
John

Bummer, no pics yet from me. [:(] O well, we’ll see.
Cheers,
John
P.S. Bump!

It’ll be the Special Hobby 1/72 RAF Mustang for me. Just finishing off a build for the ’ It Floats and Flies Build’ and I will be off and running.

well guys i started my f-18 lastnight. and so far no fit problems at all. looks like hasegawa did a real nice job on the retooling of thier f-18s. i should have a few pics in a couple of days. [:D][:D]

Mark, welcome aboard. Your choice of the F5 is fine. Look forward to seeing pics.

Just back from vacation so I will start building this w/end. Can’t wait!!
