1/72 PT-109 Photos - Almost ready for the paint shop

Greetings all,

Here are some photos of my 1/72 PT-109 almost ready for the paint shop. All the sub parts not seen are ready to go as well. No, there will be no mast on this boat. There’s not much left from the original kit except the basic shape. There’s parts of WEM photo etch thrown in and a lot of scratch building. Trust me, I’m nervous about laying on the paint but I’m ready to finish this one up and move on to the next project. It’s been a long time coming!

Really nice! Are the railings around the .50 cal guns PE or did you use brass wire?

All the railing including the depression rails are soldered and/or formed from brass wire. Thanks for the compliments but hold off until we start laying down paint. Stay tuned!

For the work we can see[bow][bow]. Sometime it’s a shame to cover the work up with paint.

Very detailed, very authentic looking. I’m especially interested in the rails (because I’m just starting to work with them myself and am all scared), but the whole boat looks Schweeeet. More pix and good luck painting!
