1/72 Panther on the shelf

Alright, took a couple of days longer than I thought, but the followup piece to last week’s mini-Elefant is done. I can definitely see the allure to trying out these smaller scale armor kits, I think I would like it even better if I was using a better quality mold (these two were Italeri), the tracks left a lot to be desired. I did swear that I’d stick to 1/35…but I might have to try to bang out a couple more of these if I can squeeze them in between all of the other builds. [:D]

Any comments highly welcomed!

Looks great, its almost hard to tell it 1/72!

[#ditto]

Again, nice work dupes. Sounds like you’re developing a fondness for that small scale. How’s your pupil doing? Looking forward to seeing his work.

I agree–a beautiful job! It really does look good, like a 1/35! The tracks are not the best moldings, but the paint job on everything makes it all work! Nice zimm-simulation too!

Nice Panther!

I have read that the Revell AG Panther is the pick of the crop, but the Italeri one (out of the box zimm?) looks pretty good as well.

cheers

Actually, it’s another case of homemade razorblade-zim. [:D] A lot easier doing the tile pattern over the…whatever the other one is called [D)] (been watching football all day, not thinking straight). Sadly, the tracks weren’t molded all that bad, just no actual contact points. Just sort of…butt them up together, apply glue. Meh.

I haven’t seen my “pupil’s” version yet, but am eagerly awaiting it [;)]. He couldn’t come over this weekend, but I’m pretty sure he banged it out on his own, should see it soon.

Doog - side note, after seeing your 1/72 you posted pics of the other day it reminded me of something I had seen in a back issue of FSM (April '06, I think)…sure enough, there was that “Karl Logan” character trying to pass off your work…AGAIN! You better look into that. [(-D]

Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment guys!

Well for homemade zimm it looks marvellous. I am not keen at all to do any sort of zimm work, especially in 1:72. Thankfully the new crop of Dragon kits are coming out with zimm out of the box. Much more suitable for an ex aircraft modeller like me!

cheers

Mike

Really? They’re even doing their 1/72 scale stuff with zim already on? Wow, what is the world coming to. [(-D]

Yeah, that guy keeps takin’ my credit! [(-D] Actually, I think I’ve been in the mag like 4-5 times now–1 car, 1 ship, 1 dio, and two tanks…I gotta send more in…? A nice little check in the mail is a good way to drum up some extra cash for a new kit or two![:D]

4 or 5 times? Wow, that’s impressive! [#toast] So I guess there’s no limit on the number of times you can make it in, huh? I was going to wait until I had something I considered really “magazine-worthy” but I suppose I shouldn’t wait that long. [sigh] Heh.
