Hey there Greetz !
I am sending you the following, by regular post;
Complete copy of Squadron “Lancaster in Action”
Large cutaway drawings of Lancaster MK.III in color for interior detailing etc.
Large instrument panel detail, not in color however (sorry [:(])
A better illustration of the bomb spinning mechanism
Some good narative on the type.
Hope this is helpful.
Update on my progress to this point;
the HUGE rivets have been removed.
Begun scratching the pit. floor is cut, now working on the pilots position, it was a raised pedestal type affair, not easy doing the supports in 1/72, ordered from Meteor the canopies for this kit…Hope to have pics up soon…{Looks like I have my technical difficulties worked out at long last [8-]}
Hi Joe,[:D]
Thanks again, mate, but I’ll have to wait a while to start on my Lanc…
I may only work on it in vacations (in 2 or 3 weeks)…
But, I’m still not sure if I’m going to remove the rivets… (see link below)
Mayby you can help, could you send some pics, that will be some help.
I’m not going to order a new canopy, cause mine look fine, just needs a more detailling…
NOTE for all those people starting on this kit: prepare yourself on a lot of scratchbuilding and detailling.
Greetz
PS: Joe, can you send me a email, please, with your progress(thanks!!!)
I was thinking about the rivets. They are definitely out of scale. The other idea is a rule I used when re-enacting the American Civil War, replace with War of Northern Aggression, it is the “3 foot rule”. If it is convinging at 3 feet then it is good to go. That brings up another question I will start as a different post [}:)]
The Squadron book is good for photos and details, especially on the turrets.
made the revell kit over 20years ago, the rivetts where awfull then and still are today. the turrets and cockpit also need rebuilding from scratch as look nothing like they should. to get a reasonable result you would need to smooth out all the surface detail and rescribe, then get new turrets, cockpit canopy and build cocpit interior from scratch.
