1/72 He-219 Finished...

Here is the Revell 1/72 He-219 “uhu” (Owl). I figured I’d call this one the “spotted owl” ;D.

-EDIT- New pics below…

It was built OOB and was a “redo” of an older build. This was a very simple/ basic kit with few details. The wings and fuselage had a fair level of rivet detail.

I searched and searched through my spares but I could not find another decent set of decals, so I went with what was in the box, hence the yellowing.

Overall I think it turned out ok, but it is a bit plain looking :-?

Please let me know what you think.

[#ditto] Very nice I love He-219…Well Done.

Ha ha…get it? PLAIN looking…[:-^]

Anyway, she looks well done with a nice presentation. If you think she’s a tad plain, you could always go back and add a wash or some pastels.

[#ditto] Or maybe dry brush the raised detail.

[#ditto] on the weathering idea. It would really help dress it up and might help to tone down the yellowed decal film. Otherwise a really nice build of a great aircraft. I have one of these buried in the stasth somewhere and I think you just gave me the motivation to move it up the to do list by a couple of notches! Thanks for the look.

Thanks for looking everyone. I think I will go back and do some weathing, I like the dry brushing idea. I dont know how well a wash would work with the raised panel lines. If the weathering turns out nicely I’ll update my pics.

I was actually attempting to replicate the plane on the box art, and I pulled it off in that respect.

The plane looks too bright for a night fighter! I originally wanted to do a plane with a black underside (Like the one at the Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy center), but I did not have the right decals.

Ok…I dry brushed it and used some chalk to get it a bit dirtier…

I’m no expert but I think it came out very nice!
