1/72 H/B LA-7 Power Build finished

Needed a break from the current project, so I pulled out HobbyBoss’ “Easy Assembly” LA-5. Very basic…perfect for a one day “power build”!

I started around 2pm, this afternoon. Even with a couple hours away from the bench, and another hour+ spent messing with airbrush problems, I still managed to finish it up before midnight!

She aint no show stopper, but will look okay toward the back of the shelf!

all that in how long? Great job on Ivan’s mount!

Thanks!

I spent maybe a total of 5 hours on it…I think that might even be a bit generous. Over the course of ten hours…I also did some work on a ship…and some other stuff, plus the down time I already mentioned. Old school…just build it!!!

Jeepers, just masking the canopy would take me an hour! What a brilliant, quick build!

Ditto.

I did one of the Easy Assembly Fw190D-9 kits. on the outside they look pretty good. Still can’t believe you did it in 5 hours.

Looks great- very nice!

Nice kit! Well done.

Was the paint even dry when you took pictures??!

OOB power build? That sounds nice. I need to do one of those!

Seriously though, it looks like you spent more time on it. Excellent results!

Wow! Five hours? Incredible!

Toshi

Thanks guys!

It was sure nice to not stess anything with this quick build. Bing-bang-boom-done!

Dry to the touch…is dry enough in my book.

Cure time, shmure time…aint nobody gots time fo dat!

Those HB easy build kits can actually be built up quite nice! You did a killer job on that one.

Fermis . . . the Usain Bolt of A/C modelling !

No one else has started decaling - and he’s crossing the finish line.

5 Hours…nice build what paints did you use?

hanks again guys!

ModelMaster enamels.

Amazing build in just 5 hours…great job Fermis

Nice job Fermis![Y][Y]

Model Master enamels? Wow I thought you had to wait overnight or couple of days between coats of paint…How long did you allow it to dry before spraying the next colors?

Thanks again!

Aint nobody got time for all that waiting!

Seriously…with this one (and most, for that matter)…I’ll hold it by a wingtip…I’ll spray the other wing first, then the rest. By the time the rest is finished, that other wing is dry enough to the touch, that I can hold it and spray the other wing. I did all black first, then did a basic flush/clean of the a/b. Gave it about ten minutes, then did some white “marbling”. Went right to the light blue belly. I let that sit about 20mins, because it would be masked. I freehanded the top camo, so I really didn’t wait between colors.

I spray in fairly thin/light coats, puting down very little paint with each pass. Dries much faster that way. I do give a little more time between paint and clear coats, and a fair amount of time before doing the decals.

Yikes. Don’t ever come watch me try to build something, you’d lose your mind.

It can take me more time to decide what to do next than it did you to build this kit.

Nice one.
