1/72 betty Bomber

Other than the yearly weekend madness GB i havent posted in this forum for quite a few years. Probably since photobucket went bat crap crazy and i could never get comfortable with another hosting site. Glad to see the new format and the easy image attachment set up.

I sarted this build a few months ago. It got held up when Canada post went on strike before i recieved the Eduard masks that i orrdered. I usually make my own masks but i think it was money well spent on this subject

Here it is all masked and canopies attached except the upper turret. A few touch ups and we should be ready for paint.

This is one aircraft that has been on my backburner radar for a long time now as I’ve always liked the lines of this aircraft and really would like to build one. My only issue is display space at the moment. Will be watching this beauty of your come together.

Funally got around to getting some paint on it. TAMIYA XF11 AND XF12

Anyone have recommendations for gloss clear coat? Future floor wax was my go to for years. Ive been using vallejo but not happy with it.

Good progress on this on @dwsrazor . I recently bought some AK Acrylic Clear and am liking how well it goes on so far.

Great color on that Betty! Looks just right from here.

As for clear – I’m still using Pledge/Future, tbh. Theres a new version out there now called “quick shine” but I’ve not tried it. Probably worth a try if you can find some.

The Betty looks great, Dave.

Alclad makes a range of clears that I like. I’ve still got a little Future left and when it is done I have a bottle of Quick Shine on the shelf, unopened.
