Just bought the Hasegawa 1/72 B-47. Looks like they just enlarged the 1/144 kit. Pretty spartan. But either way looking to add it to my other 1/72 Bombers. B-52, B-1, B-2. Those are sitting on the shelf.[:p][:p][:D]

That’s gotta be one of the most graceful large airframes ever built (outside of the Connie). Just love that plane ! “Strategic Air Command” with Jimmy Stewart. Great shots of the plane in that movie ! Show us when you’re done.

It will be a while. At least a year or two. Waiting for my last move with the US Air Force. Retirement that is. Tired of building and packing them. Then the movers toss them around. But, I may not be able to wait.
Will definitely post it when completed
Built that kit several years ago. It’s spartan, indeed, but there’s little to see in the cockpit and the completed model looks really cool… Mine ended up at the Brussels Air Museum, where it is still on display, after… 17 years…!
That kit’s an oldie but a goodie, eh? I remember building it as a wee lad in the early 70’s. Beautiful aircraft. I think I blew it up…sacrilage!
Not to fear, I now have the 1/144 Academy B-47 B/E kit waiting in the wings.
Did Hasegawa also release a B-47 in 1/144 years ago? I know the 1/72 kit is quite old, so if it was based on a 1/144 kit, it must be from the late 60’s or so.
No. Hasegawa had only the 1/72 scale kit, first issued about 1968. I remember first seeing it in the AMT box. It’s been reissued several times since then, with only changes in decals and boxart. While not great, it is a decent kit, and likely the only one you’ll ever see in 1/72 scale.
Hello, Paul!
That’s what I thought. Actually, I’ve only seen the Hasegawa 1/72 and the new 1/144 Academy kits with my own eyes.
Ya never know, though…Panda or Trumpeter are pretty unpredictable, and the next thing you know, we may have a new 1/72 or even 1/48 B-47 on the shelves!
I thought I saw a detail set for that somewhere. It included a nice looking interior from what I can remember. I want to say It was Koster Aero Enterprises that had it on display, but I don’t remember. Do any of you guys have any ideas? I have the Hasegawa kit too, but I’d like to do the B-47 justice.
J-Hulk and Mr Boyer
You are correct. My fingers typed faster than I could think. Nice to see that I cannot get anything past you guys[:p][:D][;)]
Either way, it is a graceful aircraft.
