1/72 Amodel Mil Mi-6 Early Version...anybody built this monster yet?

Again, a hapless armor (amongst other things) modeller turns to the helo experts with a question!

I just picked up the Amodel 1/72 Mil Mi-6 Early Version kit today for a ridiculously low price (for Japan, anyway…sells for about $100 USD, I got it for about $18!) and wondered if any of you sage helo modellers have built this monster.

Even in 1/72, that’s a big box full of plastic!
And plastic full of flash…and other problems, it appears.

There was an article in last month’s Model Graphix magazine, and the modeller said it was a very difficult kit to build. Turned into a very impressive model, though.

Anybody out there have an opinion of this kit?

I had also seen this kit at Brookhurst Hobbies near my house. They had it priced at about $60.00 US and they were kind enough to let me look inside. I was a bit put off by the price and all the flash, otherwise I would have gotten it too. I had posted a question about the kitquite some time ago; I don’t recall getting any answers. I will be watching this to see if anyone responds here. I do definitely want a model of the Mi-6 someday, especially in 1/72 scale so I will be watching this Thread with interest.
