1/72 Airfix Hs 129 (groan)

I had a few dollars burning in my pocket, so I decided to get an Hs 129. Unfortunately, the only one I could afford was the Airfix offering. I can say I definitely got my money’s worth. Horrible fit, raised panel lines, no interior, simplified detail, etc., etc., etc. The canopy was so opaque I actually went with the kit recommendation and used the provided pilot figure! You wouldn’t have been able to see any work anyway, so what’s the point?

Anyway, I just had to rant a little bit. And let you guys know what my current project is. It’ll definitely require a bit of work. I’ll be sure to keep everyone informed.

Try contacting Rita at Airfix for a new canopy. From all reports she is the “Bees Knees” at getting replacement parts.

Well… It is a thirty year old kit & the windscreen on the real thing was about 3 inches thick.

That said, for years it was the only one around, & there are lots of kits from lots of manufacturers

from back then where you could say the same thing.

Still, have a modellers bravery model for attempting the build[banghead]
