1/72 AH-1S WIP Need color help!

Hoping some of you helo experts can help me here. I am working on this ACE (similar to Fujimi kit) AH-1S Cobra. The kit has some major fit issues and is going to require some serious work. What I need is an idea on the color. The instructions show OD blades with overall Green (no FS reference) [bnghead]. The pictures I have seen for the older US army Helos is a OD green or OD overall color. I know the newer color is the Darker drab. Some ideas would be appreciated. Here are some pics.

Cockpit with added harnesses out of foil. couldn’t find a good reference for colors here.

Either OD Green or Helo Drab Green would be correct. The AH-1S was right at the transition period between the OD and Helo Drab and NVG compatible (flat black) cockpits. If you go with OD, the cockpit should be dark gray. If Helo Drab, either dark gray or flat black is appropriate.

Thanks. I am going with the OD green. The cockpit is mostly dark grey with black on the instrument covers. Plus I have an OH-58 and an AH-64 that will sport the Helo Drab. This kit is iving me fits but I got such a deal on it off ebay I can’t really complain. I just get to practice my putty and sanding work.
