1/72 Academy A-10A

Not an easy build, lots of filling and sanding and bad fits, looking on scale mates, this kit dates back to 1988, so this is probably why.

This is the Desert Storm boxing, but I don’t know if it is correct version of the A-10, but looks like an A-10 to me.

Camo is done with Gunze, unfortunately the colour call outs for the 2 greys are extremely close, so it’s hard to see the difference, I should have lightened or darkened one of the greys, anyway, didn’t turn out to bad.

Decals were awful and took heaps of Agama Hypersol and Tamiya X-20A thinners to set the mouth decals

That looks fantastic! I have the tamiya 1/48 kit and I want to build it with that color scheme. Well done.

Really nice build there!!

I’ve heard some bad things about this kit. But you nailed it.

Hi, Grant -

Mighty nice job you made of this A-10, looks all around perfectly done. One sure couldn’t tell it was a problem kit, based on the finished display, thanks for the post and photos.

Patrick

Thanks guys

Nice work, Grant. This is another gorgeous build from you.
