1/600 photo etch for WWII cruiser

Hi:

I have an [old] 1/600 Airfix kit of HMS Suffiolk, which I plan to build as HMS Berwick - a similar Kent class heavy cruiser. My father served briefly on this ship. A quick look at the sprues tells me that this kit is in need of some photo etch for an upgrade. The photo etch set [PE 630 and PE 631] that I was planning to get from White Ensign Models seems to be no longer available - or at least I can’t find a source. Does any one know where I could get these or failing that something similar - i.e. 1/600 photo etch fret for a WWII cruiser or perhaps battleship.

Many thanks for any suggestions,

Alan

Scale Hobbyist has a White Ensign set called Ultimate" WWII RN Destroyer/Cruiser Set 1 available along with railings and doors in the 1/600 scale. Better hurry.

Artwox also does a wood deck for the Suffolk.

Also, you do have options from both Gold Medal Models and Tom’s Model Works. GMM has two 1/600 sets that they advertise fits all Airfix 1/600 WWII British warships. These are:

  1. 1/600 Naval Ship Detail Parts

  2. 1/600 HMS King George V and Prince of Wales

Tom’s offers:

  1. Set # 6013 WWII British Naval Radars

  2. Set #6014 HMS Rodney and Nelson

  3. Set # 6016 Inclined Ladders

  4. Set #734 HMS King George V and Prince of Wales

  5. Set # 761 E Class British Destroyer

  6. Set #3535 Inclined Ladders

  7. Set 3501 3-Rail set

Between these sets you can probably find anything you need for the HMS Suffolk kit.

Many thanks to you all - the GMM KGV set looks like it will do the trick. It was the railings and crane in particular that I needed. I even have my local hobby shop ordering the part for me - Brilliant!!
