I’m working on this one for the Nats and would like to build a better radio antenna.The one in the kit makes it look like a toy. There has to be a better way to make it look realistic. Has anyone else ever taken a shot at this? What did you use and how did it turn out ? I will be grateful for any ideas anyone can share.
Back in the day my assigned bike had a whip antenna on what appeared to be a standard car mount. We went to UHF shortly thereafter and the antenna was only about 2" tall thereafter.
I’d use thin wire, and google some images for the mount design. Try www.copcar.com
I’ve used springs from ball point pens and guitar strings (steel) for whip antennas.
