Upon further inspection of this kit I read that there is a photo etch set available for purchase. This is for the bracing wires mainly but there are a few more things. I love Tamiya becasue fit is usually perfect and that is the way I feel models should be mannuafactured. I admit I was a bit peeved because this kit was already pretty stiff at 70 bucks or so and that was on sale! Question is, those of you who have this kit are the etch parts essential? Thanks.
Sort of. Tamiya does not give you several parts in the kit that are contained in their etched set (torpedo sight, engine harness). They are not hard to scratchbuild however. Tamiya have done this with several of their kits.
