It’s a BIG bird - must be about 7’6" tall when complete? That’s some serious work, for sure.
I used epoxy clay to encapsulate the end of the eyebolt. A shock cord will be attached to this.
I’ve sanded the end of the engine tube to receive the engine retainer using JB Weld.
This is the two piece retainer.
One part epoxied to the cardboard tube.
Now the screw on half capturing the engine and preventing it from moving in either direction.
This is the original solid resin CM. The shoulder was too large to fit properly into the SM tube and I have no lathe to turn it down.
The CM on the left is from Shapeways. Lightweight and hollow. Better definition in details as well.
