hi there, does anyone out there have a monogram 1/48th scale zero?I lost the canopy and I need the part number to order a new one.I bought the kit as is and it didn’t come with instructions.thanks for the help
Nope, don’t have one but there are several options:
Got to Monogram-Revel’s website and try ordering a replacement part.
Or- order a Zero canopy from Squadron.com
Good luck.
thanks, someone else suggested the squadron.ive got about 10 kits to go through but the tomcat is definitly on the list.currently building a p51a and p51d.2 at a time keeps me from being bored.happy modeling
If your Zero is Dark Blue plastic & covered in rivets, it’s the same one I built recently. It seems to date from the sixties, though it had an 80’s copyright moulded into it. I built a Tamiya Zero at the same time and used the Tamiya to correct the Monogram. I added about 2mm in length at mid fuselage, and about the same to the tailfin. I built a cockpit and used a Tamiya canopy, which fits with a few fuselage mods, the Monogram one is hopelessly overthick.
People who keep knocking a certain British model company really ought to have a look at this kit (No names, we’ll protect the innocent. And lawyers are not getting a penny out of me!!)
PS yes, I know the Tamiya is an M2 & the Monogram an M5, but the fuselage is the same (ish)

thanks for the advice, actually it’s green plastic so it might be newer.anyway, found one on ths squadron site so I’m going to order it from them.i’m building a p51a from accurate minatures,I don’t know if I’m up to the lavel of a tamiya kit but I’m intrigued by the shinden.anyway thanks for the advice
If this helps at all I purchased the 1/32 Corsair kit and it was missing a canopy. I wrote to Revell/Monogram, gave kit number, and explained I was missing a canopy. I recieved one in the mail a week later. Worth a try anyhow…
If you’ve got the realy old one (1960’s version, Kit No 6799), then there isn’t at P/N. I kept most of the instruction sheets from old Monogram kits I built as a kid. Inspite all their vices, they where great to learn on.

I have that kit, and I won’t be building it. You can have the whole kit if you want it. Email me directly at amsnaproll@zoomtown.com, and we can work out the details.
