1/48th Italeri S-3B

This one was part of a dual build. I built my ES-3A while I did this one.

You’ve been a busy guy at the bench @USAF_462_2W1 and this one turned out pretty dang good and it’s got a great base to be displayed on too. Interior looks really good.

Your Viking turned out great. I really like it with the wings folded and its weapons load. Excellent job!

Thanks very much.

Would you happen to know if the Italeri kit that you built is just a reboxing of the old AMT/ERTL kit?

That’s a gorgeous build!

I do not but, I will tell you that both my Italeri S-3B and the AMT/ERTL ES-3A fit very nice, no issues.

Wow, that is some fine work. I might have to add one to the stash. A Viking would go well with the Tracker, Orion, Neptune, and Hawkeye kits that I have built over the years.

It is according to scalemates. The ESCI kit is the original tool from 1980

Great looking build. I’ve got this kit in the stash - glad to hear it goes together well.

That (and the C-3 COD) were the versions I built up in the 80s. I still wish somebody would add the tail fold to the wing fold AM parts.

ES-3 offers a lot of oddball options for stores. Although all the ones I ever saw were parked TOW (Tail over Water) which made for complicated walk-arounds..
