1/48 versus 1/32 scale

[?]Hello everyone. I have a question about 1/32 scale versus 1/48 scale. I am building a F6F - 3 Hellcat in 1/32 scale. I want to make a dio with it, but can not find any 1/32 ground crew for that size. My question is, can I use 1/48 scale figures or would there be to much of a scale differance? Any help would be appreciated. E-Mail me at: n2gvb@arrl.net or amasijr@stny.rr.com. [tup]

that would be impossible [:(]

a 6 foot tall man in 1/48 is 1.5’’ tall

the same man in 1/32 is 2.25’’ tall

check VLS or some of the small resin figure companies to see what the have for you[:)]

1/35 figures can be acceptable for ground crew with a 1/32 plane. The difference is around 10% - and real humans have a fair bit of variation in height [;)]

There are plenty to choose from but you might have to do some conversion work to make them look like USN ground crew - most are WW2 and modern infantry/tank crew.

Too great of a difference between 1/32 and 1/48 figures, also detail isn’t as good on the smaller figures. Go with 1/35 figures, no one will know the difference but you.

you know i was just thinking (don’t say it[:O] )

seeing your going to have to rework figures anyway in 1/35 scale

airfix has a line of poseable figures in 1/32 scale at least that might eliminate some of the complex surgery
