But availability isnt great and the guy that makes them has stopped. So I’m wondering if anyone else has some sources or knows anyone that can make some? I would buy some from that website but the particular one I want is not in stock and they are a little pricey.
For those curious, its for the Meng 1/48 F/A-18F. I know it comes with figures but I’m keen to get something more refined and detailed. I have tried making figures before, the process is complex but doable. However I dont have a 3d printer and I’m not sure I trust 3d printing suppliers in my area/my ability to maintain details in the process. But if anyone knows better please let me know!
If you are looking for aftermarket pilots in general(resin or 3d printed) from WWII to pres, you have Legends, Sabre, Aero Bonus(Aires) CMK, Teknics(harder to find), Verlinden( even tho out of production, still can be found) Reskit(modern) to name a few.
As for plastic, Eduards pilot/crew sets(WWII), Tamiya (WWII US Navy pilots) and ICM.
But for modern Navy pilots, ResKit, Sabre and Legends. As mentioned, Google is your friend. Usually I do a general search, ex: 1/48 US Navy Pilots. Anything and everything will come up regarding that search.
Sometimes you just need to dig a bit. Hope this helps.
For reference, I’m looking for F/A-18 navy pilots in particular, bonus if its a JHMCS helmet!
Unfortunately all I could find was the aerobonus ones but they print in a seat already and I need it by itself. Sigh! I’ll keep searching
As for the brands you mentioned, nothing really seems to have a USN Pilot at this stage, the reskits look so nice so I’m hoping they make one at some stage.
