I’ve taken on a bit of a challenge for myself, so I’m putting this on all the forums I belong to keep me motivated to finish. My goal is to build 30 1/48 Monogram Tomcats for the 2011 Nats in Omaha. It’s the 100 anniversary of NavAir as well as the 5th anniversary of the Tomcat’s retirement. I thought it would be a fitting tribute. I’m building them in groups of 5, using the shortcuts I’ve come up with (FSM Oct. 2006). The first set of 5 are done, and the next set of 5 are being painted and decaled. We’ll see how far I make it!
quite an ambitious project! are you building one Tom for each squadron that flew them? The Nationals are going to be held just up the road from my hometown, and I hope to attend. If I do, I’ll be sure to look for all these Tomcats!

Logistics has got to be fun. How’d you get the decals, etc.?
