1/48 Tamiya Vought F4U-1D Corsair

simple out of the box build. fit and assembly went - typically Tamyia - very well.
only complaints I have is the very thick decals, so next time, I will spray them on with a mask.
I did omit some parts and the pilot with tractor at the end, using it for another project. i did a four color preshade on grey, with three to four color modulation, finishing it off with oil paints and some pin wash. quite happy with the results.
As alyways, my builds are never really accurate, more jsut for fun.
timelapse build will be up on my channel soon…

cheers

I love your weathering on the Corsair. Looks great.

The Tamiya Corsair is a pleasure to build and allows plenty of opportunity to practice painting insignia and squadron info. I think I may need to get another one and build it as a USMC bird…

The weathering, dirt/grime is perfect, and as others have stated the pictures are fantastic, nice job! :+1:t2:

Looks good. I built that same kit years ago. Your assessment is correct - typical Tamiya.

Thanks everyone, certainly a great kit. I may need to add more chipping for the nature and theme of this plane. Cheers

Got one of those in the stash. Been thinking about starting on. The camera shots are great as is your Corsair.

Really well done - especially if those are Tamiya decals, that’s great work!
